When I was pregnant, I was determined not to fall into the trap of buying a load of stuff I wouldn’t use. The bombardment with endless lists of ‘must buy items’ for your baby can be hard to resist, but I stood firm. However, I feel really missed out by not getting a Sleepyhead Deluxe for when Luther was a baby, and, after reviewing it’s big brother – The Sleepyhead Grand – it’ll be the first thing I get if/when we have another baby!
Designed in Sweden and handmade in Europe, the Sleepyheads are, in essence, portable sleeping pods. As previously mentioned, Sleepyhead produce a Grand version of their sleep pod for babies older than 8 months through to 36 months. Hurrah!Luther has been testing out The Sleepyhead Grand. It’s the same portable, baby bed, just a larger version. The Sleepyhead Grand is made up of a mattress pad made from 100% polyester (Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class 1 certified No FR treatment) with a sausage bumper around the edge that cocoons your tot. The cover is removable and spare covers are available in lovely designs. It is made of breathable and hypoallergenic materials, and the filling has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.
I was really keen to try out a Sleepyhead because I think it’ll make the perfect cot to bed transition tool, and it is also great for lounging around and reading books in. We’ve been using it for several months now and I absolutely love it. Luther’s been sleeping in our bed since he was born, and now that he’s quite big we wanted to move him into the cot that sits next to our bed to avoid flailing feet and arms hitting us in the night. He goes down perfectly in his Sleepyhead and it’s going to be the ideal way to move him into his own bed in the next few months.
