Renowned worldwide as a showcase for opulent grandeur and cutting-edge fashion, Knightsbridge is a neighbourhood of chic shops and even chicer people. On the famous Brompton Road lies Harrods, Harvey Nichols and celebrity hairdresser Paul Edmonds London, who have made Knightsbridge there home for over 25 years.
Housed in a beautiful Georgian-inspired townhouse, the salon on Brompton Road displays intense attention to detail and a soulful aesthetic. Upon walking in to the salon I was greeted by the friendly reception staff where upon my jacket was taken and they notified my stylist, Jennie, that I had arrived. Jennie came to greet me then showed me downstairs to the styling floor. AtPaul Edmonds London the salon has been split into service areas dependent on what the clients needs are, upstairs is the colouring floor while downstairs houses the stylists who cut and restyle. The salon also offers a wide range of beauty services from manicures to non-surgical facial treatments.Downstairs state-of-the-art Shu Uemura ceremony rooms meet cocoon-like treatment sanctuaries. Modern creativity meets a rich heritage. From the moment you step inside, this is an environment that intrigues, relaxes and feels like home. I took my seat and Jennie and I discussed my hair; having left the bad bleach years ago after severe advice from a hair director friend of mine I am still left with some damage, mostly from over processing with styling tools and from putting my hair up in a hairband. Jennie looked at my locks and suggested as I wanted to keep the length that we tidy up the cut, making it more defined and maybe even up the layers that were around my face as it seemed one side had grown quicker than the other and was now uneven. I headed to the washbasin area and had my hair washed and conditioned using nourishing Shu Uemura products and then returned to the seat where Jennie brushed through my mane and started to cut.Half an hour or so later Jennie blow-dried my hair and finished off the cut as to any loose ends; as I was off out that night to a VIP concert at the O2 Jennie blow-dried my hair then used curling tongs to produce a sexy loose curl look that not only lasted the whole night in a humid venue with much dancing but through to the next day, needless to say I was impressed! My hair felt healthy, clean and smooth and it looked great, I definitely left Paul Edmonds London with that “just stepped out of the salon” feeling! Jennie was also great as to advice to look after my hair, as someone that goes to the gym and spin studio a lot I worry I wash my hair too much, Jennie suggested a great Shu Uemura product I could use between washes to keep my hair clean but not strip it of its nutrients. Every gym visit now I am never without my Shu Uemura essence absolue nourishing cleansing milk!Exemplary technique comes as standard atPaul Edmonds London, with an honest, holistic approach that directly reflects Paul’s personal values and ethos, an ethos of sincere and attentive care. From the moment I stepped foot in the door to Jennie saying goodbye the staff took their time to listen to me and truly understood what I wanted and also what I needed in terms of my hair, from health to the overall look.
