LeCrans

Up above Crans Montana in the Valais, LeCrans Hotel & Spa offers an unforgettable experience that has lingered in our memories thanks to the incredible hospitality of this unique lodge-style hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Renan at the front desk, whose warm hospitality and attention to detail set the tone for our stay. He efficiently organised our check-in, ensuring that every aspect of our arrival was seamless.

Staying at LeCrans Hotel & Spa

Our home for the next few nights was the stunning Deluxe Suite Les Alpes. The moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The suite boasted a chic yet cosy design, combining contemporary elegance with rustic charm. Large windows flooded the space with natural light, making it the perfect sanctuary to unwind after a day of exploring.

The luxurious amenities included a plush king-sized bed, a spacious living area, and a private balcony that offered an uninterrupted panorama of the snow-capped peaks. Every detail had been thoughtfully curated to provide maximum comfort, from the sumptuous linens to the carefully chosen artwork that adorned the walls. It was a space where we felt both pampered and at home.

My favourite feature of the suite was the sound system, which is wired into the rooms so you can listen to soft jazz both upstairs and down, and even in the bathrooms! The terrace was also magical, Adam and I stood outside many a night star gazing in the crisp Alpine air, we even had the chance to watch a thunderstorm crack over the distant mountains of the Alpine ridge.

Dining at LeCrans Hotel & Spa

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we made our way to the hotel’s dining establishment, the Michelin-starred LeMontBlanc, where we were greeted by Alexis, the Restaurant Manager. He exuded a passion for gastronomy that was infectious, guiding us through the menu with enthusiasm. The restaurant’s ambience was intimate yet inviting, with flickering candlelight and a backdrop of soft music creating the perfect setting for a memorable evening.

We savoured every bite of the exquisite dishes crafted by the talented culinary team. The menu featured a delightful blend of local flavours and international influences, showcasing the best of Swiss cuisine. Each course was a masterpiece, artfully presented and bursting with flavour. Charlotte, our charming waitress from Paris, added to the experience with her attentive service and delightful conversation, making us feel like valued guests rather than just diners.

Each night we dined at LeMontBlanc there was always something new to discover. Both of our favourite courses were the “Guess the soup”, which came in a test tube and you had to guess the three ingredients that were in the concoction, plus dessert, which was always a showstopper, with the cotton candy making us both feel like children again, such a magical touch to the end of a meal.

The next morning, we awoke to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air. Jeremy, who was on breakfast duty, greeted us with a warm smile as we entered the dining area. The breakfast spread was nothing short of exceptional, featuring an array of fresh pastries, artisanal cheeses, and a selection of hot dishes cooked to order. It was a feast fit for royalty, fueling us for a day of adventure in the stunning alpine landscape.

Wellness at LeCrans Hotel & Spa

After a full day on the slopes of Crans Montana, we decided to indulge in some well-deserved spa time. The LeSpa at LeCrans was a sanctuary of tranquillity, with the stand-out feature being the heated outdoor pool. The views from the terrace where it sits were breathtaking, especially at sundown as the sky turned from blue to pink to red. Inside you will find another pool, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam and a fitness centre. While the spa is small it has everything you need, even the small fitness room is well-equipped meaning on a white-out day you can keep up your fitness.

I also experienced a Performer Massage in LeSpa which is ideal for athletic recovery, the perfect solution after several days skiing. A dynamic treatment that is specially formulated to combat persistent aches and pains, reset any muscular strain or tension, and keep you performing at your very best. I certainly felt reset afterwards ready to take on more activity with my calves and lower back feeling less stiff. LeSpa offers many treatments from traditional massages to facials from skincare company Valmont to more medically led treatments including the world-famous Hydrafacial.

So whether you are seeking a restorative wellness break, a one-of-a-kind gourmet experience, or a private Alpine hotel, LeCrans is a beacon of Swiss hospitality. LeCrans offers the elevated comforts of a home-from-home, exceptional service, and stunning vistas. Having stayed here in both Summer and Winter I now feel like a beloved resident, I certainly cannot wait to return soon, until then I will dream of cotton candy and alpine sunsets.
