DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort stands as a beacon of alpine luxury, inviting guests to immerse themselves in a world of wellness and relaxation. Upon arrival, the enchanting landscape unfolded before us, framed by majestic mountains that promised adventure and serenity alike. The hotel’s modern alpine design harmonized beautifully with its surroundings, featuring elegant wooden accents and soothing colour palettes that evoked a sense of calm.

From the moment we stepped inside, an air of tranquillity enveloped us. Felix, the front desk attendant, greeted us with a warm smile and efficiently checked us in. He handed us the keys to our Junior Suite, a modern alpine space that seamlessly blended comfort with elegance. The decor featured soothing greys and rich wooden accents, evoking a sense of tranquillity. As we stepped inside, the heated tile floor welcomed us, a luxurious touch that immediately set the tone for our stay.

The suite boasted a private balcony that overlooked the picturesque town and the hotel’s spa area. The views were nothing short of breathtaking. It felt like a painting come to life, with the mountains standing tall against the horizon. One of the highlights of our room was the thoughtfully provided pillow menu. After a long day of travel, I opted for a neck support pillow, which cradled my head perfectly as I drifted off to sleep, lulled by the serenity of the alpine surroundings.
Dining at DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort
Dining in this hotel proved to be an experience in itself. The half-board option allows guests to indulge in the extensive offerings at the main restaurant. Each meal began with a visit to the lavish salad bar, where the variety was astounding. Among the array of fresh greens and toppings, the Berkel machine caught my eye, it skillfully sliced local Speck, adding a gourmet touch to our already delightful meal.

Asian cuisine also beckoned from a sushi bar in the lobby. With a simple scan of a QR code, we could order sushi to be delivered to the main restaurant. This blend of culinary cultures showcased the hotel’s commitment to offering diverse dining options that are appealing to all palates.

Breakfast was equally impressive. The selection was vast, featuring a juicer for fresh juices, a hot station for eggs cooked to order, and a generous assortment of breads and pastries. Each morning began with the anticipation of what delightful dishes awaited us. The atmosphere buzzed with the chatter of guests, all eager to start their day on the slopes or in the spa.
One evening, we enjoyed a special dining experience at the Sirloin Grill, where Killian, our attentive server, guided us through the menu. The restaurant’s interior design was sleek and modern, complete with an open kitchen where we could watch the chef in action. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the open meat locker, showcasing a range of local cuts alongside international beef.

For meat lovers, this was paradise. I was particularly drawn to the F1 hybrid Wagyu from Austria, renowned for its marbling and flavour. Paired with creamy potato dauphinoise drizzled in truffle sauce, each bite was a celebration of taste and quality. The ambience, combined with the expertly prepared meals, created an unforgettable dining experience.
Wellness at DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort
DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort offers an extraordinary retreat that combines the beauty of the alpine landscape with the luxury of a vast spa experience. Upon entering the Mountain Spa, which spanned an impressive 7000m² across five floors, I was immediately struck by the sheer scale of this sanctuary. It stood as one of the largest spa complexes I had ever encountered, catering to both families and adults seeking a more tranquil experience.

The family area buzzed with excitement, featuring water slides that delighted children and adults alike. Among these, the slide that required a rubber ring was the standout attraction, providing an exhilarating rush as we plunged into the pool below. Adjacent to the family section, textile saunas and various swimming pools invited relaxation after a day filled with fun.

A new addition to the spa was the adults-only area, which exuded a serene atmosphere. This section featured an infinity pool that appeared to seamlessly merge with the horizon, creating an illusion of swimming into the sky. Multiple saunas dotted the landscape, including a cold plunge that offered a refreshing contrast after the heat. An infrared room, complete with a lazy boy-type chair, awaited those seeking a unique relaxation experience. The chair gently pumped out infrared heat, providing a soothing embrace that melted away the stress of daily life.

One of the highlights of this remarkable spa was a drinks machine that offered an array of refreshing beverages. My personal favourite became the lime and ginger infusion, a delightful blend that invigorated the senses. Additionally, the event sauna, held at 5 PM and 6 PM daily, featured aromatic infusions that transformed the sauna experience into a sensory delight.

During my stay, I indulged in a Muscle Active Classic Massage, a partial body treatment tailored to my specific needs. My therapist, Elisa, took the time to assess my preferences, and together, we decided to focus on my spine and legs, which had certainly felt the strain from skiing. The massage was nothing short of heavenly, with Elisa’s skilled hands working their magic to relieve tension.
Skiing from DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort
Perfectly located for a day on the slopes, guests can reach the resort of Grossarl in Salzburgerland straight from the luxurious ski room that provides ample storage for winter gear. Each locker was spacious enough for a family of four, and the convenience of direct access to the base station of the Panoramabahn made ski-in, ski-out travel a breeze.

After an exhilarating morning on the slopes, we decided to refuel with lunch at Wolke 7, a mountain restaurant opened by DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with the laughter of fellow skiers enjoying a well-deserved break. I opted for the highlight of the menu: the Vienna schnitzel made from tender veal served with a side of crispy French fries and cranberries. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavours, perfectly complemented by the stunning alpine views that surrounded us.
As the day drew to a close, we returned to the spa to unwind from the adventures of the afternoon. The combination of exhilarating skiing, luxurious pampering, and delectable dining created a well-rounded experience that left us feeling rejuvenated and fulfilled.

DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort truly exceeded all expectations, offering a blend of relaxation, adventure, and culinary delights that catered to every whim. It was a retreat that invited us to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and reconnect with nature and ourselves. As we prepared to leave, the vistas of the mountains were etched in our memories, a reminder of the serene beauty we had experienced during our stay at DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort.
