Japan Week Festival

by Katie Bamber

Until Sunday 3rd October 2021 in Covent Garden and across the city, the Japan Week Festival celebrates London’s thriving Japanese scene in a series of collaborations and events showing off an array of Japanese culture and cuisine. A space in the Seven Dials will play host to pop-ups including siphon coffee sessions with a master brewer from Ueshima Japanese coffee lounge and sake tasting with KANPAI – the UK’s first sake brewery. ‘Japan Week is an incredible opportunity for everyone to experience a taste of Japan right here in London,’ says KANPAI owner and Japan Week Festival Ambassador Tom Wilson. Restaurants and bars across the capital will be joining us in celebrating Japan’s rich food and drink culture. I for one can’t wait to delve into this Japanese showcase on our very own doorstep, particularly in a time when travelling abroad is not so straightforward.’

This week restaurants, bars and venues across the city will be putting on events, limited-edition menus and exclusive discounts – Nobu, Novikov and M Restaurants, Bone Daddies, Kanpai and Japanified.

Japan Week has also partnered with The BFI, which is launching a Japanese film series this Autumn.

For more information visit the Japan Week Festival website. Bookable experiences are listed with direct links to book via each venue’s individual website.

A travelogue and Manhattan in hand at her favourite pub or dancing the night away to loud, loud music just about rivals a fresh powder day or sunrise surf.
